GEORGE TOWN: Penang eSports Festival (PeF2019) will be held for the first time to develop the state as an e-sports hub. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said this is to ensure that state is attracted to young people. "It will be an additional attraction here," he said at the tabling of the state's budget at the Penang Legislature Assembly here today. The federal budget tabled by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government allocated RM10 million to the development of emphasized on the e-sports industry. The allocation for eSports development was announced as part of Budget 2019, tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng Parliament. Chow also said the state has also allocated RM34 million for the tourism industry.
