SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government will reallocate RM200,000 to each Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman in the state to carry out projects for the people's well-being.
Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari said the allocation was the policy of the state government and it was prepared to give it even though the BN assemblymen used to reject the allocation.
"Before this, we were the first state to give among the highest allocation of RM200,000 (a year). I hope they will use it accordingly," he told reporters at the lobby of the state legislative assembly, here today.
For the past four years, all BN assemblymen have declined the allocation claiming the quantum did not reflect fair play.
Earlier, Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman Rizam Ismail was appointed the new opposition leader for the state effective today. — Bernama
