(Video) Car floats down drain near Sunway Giza

PETALING JAYA: A car was washed away by a heavy stream after plunging into a drain at Persiaran Mohagani in front of a bank in Sunway Square, Kota Damansara here on Sunday (Nov 4).
Selangor Deputy Chief of Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) Deputy Superintendent Sahimi Husin said his side received a call on the incident at 6.51pm.
"Based on the initial information obtained, a Toyota Vios car was believed to have skidded before plunging into the drain.
"While waiting for the tow truck, the heavy rain caused the water current in the monsoon drain to sweep the car away,” he said in a statement, here today.
Sahimi said the car driver was believed to be a foreign student.
"However, the real identity of the car owner when the incident happened was not known.
"Further investigation found that the car was registered under the name, Khodijah Mohd Ismail, 56, addressed in Tapah, Perak.
"The car driver is safe. There were no reports of the incident being received," he said.
The incident is investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act (JPJ) 1987.
Videos of the incident have been circulating on social media since the incident took place on Sunday.
