Carlsberg’s Selangor tax bill cancelled

PETALING JAYA: Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd confirmed that the bill of demand it received from the Selangor State Director of Royal Malaysian Customs has been cancelled effective Jan 15.

In a Bursa filing, the group said the demand for sales tax had amounted to RM13.76 million, while the penalty amounted to RM6.88 million over the period of July 1, 2011 to Jan 14, 2014.

Carlsberg shares closed 34 sen higher at RM36, with 15.9 million shares done.
