PETALING JAYA: Invest Selangor has unveiled a dedicated mobile app for the upcoming Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2019 to be held on October 10-13 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
“This year we have improved our business-to-business opportunities, enabling buyers to use online platform to set up appointments with exhibitors and to have advanced negotiations to schedule meetings,” said Selangor exco member for investment, industry and SME Datuk Teng Chang Khim (pix) at a press conference today.
He explained that the launch of the app is a case of leadership by example relating to Selangor’s smart state ambitions.
According to Teng, the app will address the concerns of long queues and misinformation raised in the previous summit.
To date, the summit has registered over 800 booths from 400 local and international companies, with over 30% foreign exhibitors taking part.
For SIBS 2019, Invest Selangor retains its targets of achieving a transaction value of RM250 million and 30,000 visitors.
This year will also see the return of SIBS’ Smart City and Digital Economy Convention, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, e-wallet and 5G technology.
Meanwhile, the summit will also introduce a research & development and innovation expo that serves as a platform for investors, researchers and entrepreneurs to showcase their latest ideas and inventions to potential investors, marketers and manufacturers.
The SIBS 2019 mobile app is available for download on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
