PETALING JAYA: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s net profit rose 1.7% to RM35.78 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019 against RM35.17 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
It recorded a revenue of RM259.36 million for the quarter under review, a 6.8% drop against RM278.40 million reported previously.
According to the group’s filing with the local bourse, its property development segment registered a profit of RM5.49 million, attributed to an encouraging take-up rate and higher development progress.
Its construction business saw a slight profit contraction of 2.2% in the quarter with RM57.44 million compared with RM58.72 million registered previously.
Its manufacturing segment’s profit fell 23% in the quarter to RM1.69 million from RM2.2 million.
For the first half of the year, Kerjaya Prospek’s net profit grew 5% to RM70.9 million from RM67.51 million, while revenue slipped 1.9% to RM523.54 million from RM533.54 million.
Its outstanding order book stood at RM3.4 billion as at financial period ended June 30, 2019.
Moving forward, the group aims to focus on the construction segment to be the main revenue driver.
