MyEG begins sharing data with Labour Dept on Covid-19 screening of foreign workers

PETALING JAYA: MY E.G. Services Bhd (MyEG) has commenced a data-sharing collaboration with the Labour Department of Peninsular Malaysia for monitoring and enforcement related to Covid-19 screening of foreign workers.

In its Bursa Malaysia disclosure, the group explained the collaboration aims to leverage its recently launched one-stop Covid-19 portal which serves as an alternative channel for employers to register and arrange for the testing of their workers.

Under the arrangement, MyEG will share real-time data from the portal, including workers’ screening status, test results and mobile QR-code based digital certificates issued as proof of testing with the department.

It highlighted that the data provided will be used to assist the department in its monitoring and enforcement of employers’ compliance with the government directive for the screening of foreign workers.

The group urged employers of foreign workers to register the screening status of their workforce via the portal to ensure the data shared with the department are up to date.

It said the portal also provides employers the option to arrange for on-site testing for those who have yet to complete the required screening.

MyEG said the screening of non-Socso contributors, meanwhile, can be arranged through the portal at RM150 a test.
