PETALING JAYA: TH Heavy Engineering Bhd’s (THHE) wholly owned subsidiary, THHE Fabricators Sdn Bhd (TFSB) has regained its Petronas licence to supply products and services to exploration and oil and gas companies in Malaysia.

According to the group’s Bursa filing, the approved licence is for the categories of mechanical engineering maintenance (topside piping and structural); offshore facilities construction and major fabrication of offshore facilities; and tank/tank farms.

The duration of the licence is from Dec 24, 2019 to Dec 23, 2022 and it is eligible to bid for Petronas contract in the approved categories.

Petronas had in October 2017 disallowed TFSB from bidding for main contractor, major fabricator and engineering procurement, construction and commissioning jobs due to non-performance in the Kinabalu Non-Associated Gas (NAG) project.

The action followed an outright ban by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd in 2016, from participating in their tenders for a period of two years, for non-performance in the same project.

TFSB was the procurement, construction and commissioning (PCC) contractor for KNPG-B Topside PH II, NAG development project, which was awarded in Jan 28, 2014.

THHE, a Practice Note 17 company, has until April 23, 2020 to submit its restructuring plan.
