PETALING JAYA: Titijaya Land Bhd has signed a collaboration and distribution agreement with Rubberex Corp (M) Bhd for the sale of gloves to China via Sinopharm Medical Equipment QuanZhou Co. Ltd.

The agreement signed entails Titijaya and Rubberex intention to collaborate, distribute, export and sell gloves to the Chinese market via Sinopharm, and also to collaborate, distribute, import and sell personal protection equipment and medical products from Sinopharm and any other corporations, bodies or entities as may be agreed.

Titijaya deputy group managing director Lim Poh Yit said the mutual relationship will create new opportunities and synergies in the export market globally by sharing both parties’ respective capabilities.

“Titijaya had joined forces with Rubberex to further pursue its developments and portfolio expansion into the healthcare products sector. In line with Rubberex’s undergoing expansion plans, we are also keen to participate and assist by providing our decades of experience in the field of industrial property development,” he said.

Rubberex managing director Khoo Chin Leng said venturing into the distribution of personal protection equipment and medical products from Sinopharm will open up new avenues and greater access into a wide network of customers, which is a strategic move for both parties in their respective expansion plans.

Rubberex intends to become a significant player in the nitrile disposable glove segment. Upon completion of its latest phase of expansion, Rubberex will increase its total installed annual capacity to 2.5 billion pieces of gloves compared with 1 billion pieces in 2019.
