DAP Youth Chief remains fully supportive of Perak party leadership

IPOH: DAP National Socialist Youth (Dapsy) chief Howard Lee Chuan How (pix) will remain fully supportive of Nga Kor Ming’s leadership as the Perak DAP chairman despite the resignation of two committee members of the party following dissatisfaction with Nga’s leadership.

Lee, who is also the state Youth and Sports Development Committee chairman said that he is very satisfied with the performance of the party and has not raised any issues involving its leadership.

“For me, the party is an organisation that is more than a person and there is no issue of individual here, I will concur with every decision made by the party. I will remain fully supportive of the leadership of my party,” he told reporters at a press conference at the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

Yesterday, DAP state deputy treasurer Leong Cheok Keng and DAP state assistant organising secretary Leow Thye Yih resigned with immediate effect following Nga’s actions to discuss Paul Yong Choo Kiong’s position as an exco member in the state Pakatan Harapan (PH) meeting without consulting the party committee first.

Leong, who is also Yong’s lawyer, said that his quarter believed that if Yong’s position is to be discussed at the PH level, it would need to be discussed first at the state party committee level.

Lee declined to comment further and leave it to the party leadership to release any statement on the issue.

Asked about rumours that some DAP committee members would resign, he said it was just a rumour. — Bernama
