KUALA KUBU BARU: A two-year-old female goat died after being raped by a 60-year-old man at Kampung Sungai Buaya, Serendah, near here on Tuesday.
It is learnt that at about 1.30pm, the goat’s owner heard the animal bleating strangely and decided to check on it at a pen behind her house.
The woman was stumped when she caught a man with his pants down at the goat pen.
She questioned the man on what he was doing, to which he told her he was on a “project”.
The suspect then pulled up his pants and fled the scene.
On checking the animal, the woman found her goat dead, believed to be from the act of bestiality.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt Arsad Kamaruddin said today the 45-year-old owner of the goat, who is self-employed, lodged a police report at about 6.30pm on Tuesday following the incident.
He said the suspect who is known to the woman was traced to an undergrowth near Jalan Tengah not far away from the goat pen and arrested at about 11am today by a police team.
Arsad said the suspect who had past criminal records will be remanded for investigation for “negligence with respect to any animal” and “buggery with an animal” under Section 289 and Section 377 of the Penal Code respectively.
He said the crime scene was also investigated by forensics police and the Kuala Kubu Baru Veterinary Department.
Arsad said the carcass of the goat was sent to the Veterinary Department laboratory for a post-mortem.
