After beating cancer, resolute survivor now looking to conquer Mount Everest Base Camp. No one is ever prepared to face the challenge of fighting the “Big C”. Shima Hassan Marcy 61, a breast cancer survivor, however, lives by the motto: “Life doesn’t require that we be the best, only that we try our best.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Malaysia - 1 in 30 will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Shima, rather than throw in the towel, she took up the fight in her own way. Shima tells theSun her journey as a survivor and the motivation to live life to the fullest.
