PETALING JAYA: Some 300 pupils from 12 primary schools in the Klang Valley recently ended a 20-week course and extra guidance via the Rimbun Education Programme (REP).

Running into its fourth year, the REP aims to improve students’ achievements in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mathematics by including assessments for students’ academic performance as well as feedback from the teachers.

The REP was held from February to November, with sessions being from 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.

The cost for the programme was borne by Rimbun Education Foundation which included light snacks during sessions, breakfast catering, student handouts and learning materials.

Speaking at the Rimbun Education 2018 closing ceremony, chairman of the Rimbun Education Foundation, Datuk Raveendra Kumar Nathan said that the programme gained traction with more schools having participated this year.

“From only four schools with 100 students in 2015, we have now grown to 12 schools with 300 students,“ he said.

“We intend to continuously improve our programmes especially the curriculum. This is to ensure our motto, ‘learning is fun’, will translate well in the class and students will have enjoy the learning processes.

“I would like to congratulate all REP students for having successfully completed 20 weeks of classes and demonstrating with confidence their wonderful and creative performances.”
