KUALA LUMPUR: There is a sufficient number of hemodialysis machines to meet the needs of Hepatitis B patients at the Bintulu Hospital in Sarawak, said Deputy Health Minister I Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali (pix).
He said there were currently 24 hemodialysis machines at the hospital with two of them reserved for Hepatitis B patients capable of accommodating 12 treatment slots.
“There are 12 Hepatitis B patients at the hospital. None of them are on the waiting list for treatment and none are also sent out of Bintulu for treatment,” he said during the question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.
He said the Health Ministry (MOH) is always focused on carrying out improvements in all hospitals and health clinics in phases, depending on the needs of the local community.
He was replying to Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing (GPS-Bintulu) on whether the MOH has plans to increase the number of hemodialysis machine for Hepatitis B patients at the Bintulu Hospital and improve the quality of services at the Bintulu Polyclinic. — Bernama
