CBP allocates RM240,000 for back to school programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Co-opbank Pertama (CBP) has allocated RM240,000 for the Back to School 2020 programme which will benefit a total of 1,200 students from the B40 families in several states throughout Malaysia.

Its chairman Kamari Zaman Juhari said this year, schools in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Perak, Melaka and Terengganu will be involved in the programme.

“This Back to School programme is our annual programme that aims to ease the financial burden of parents in terms of buying school necessities for their children.

“In 2018, 500 students (received the aid), then 800 students in 2019, this year, the number of recipients increased to 1,200,“ he said when launching the programme here, today.

Each student will receive a RM200 voucher, which could be redeemed at a supermarket that has branches in each state involved, to buy themselves school items.

For the record, he said this year CBP had contributed more than RM150,000 to schools nationwide. -Bernama
