KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban highway heading for the federal capital was congested causing a jam of more than five kilometres following an accident involving a lorry and four cars today.

The accident at about 6am was believed to have occurred when a lorry transporting mineral water was believed to have skidded and entered into the opposite lane before colliding with the four vehicles.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

Lorry driver V. Ramesh, 32, said the accident occurred when the lorry he was driving skidded after one of the tyres burst.

“The lorry attendant and I were travelling to Seremban and suddenly the tyre burst ... the lorry was certainly uncontrollable.

“I applied the brake a number of times but without success resulting in the vehicle entering the opposite lane,” he told Bernama at the scene.

A check at the location found that works to remove the vehicles involved in the collision were still going on. — Bernama
