KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) today launched the DBP Anti-Corruption Plan 2021-2025 by focusing on four priority areas, namely financial management, governance, language, literature and publications management as well as management services.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said the plan reflected the stance and the spirit of DBP's top management in improving the integrity and effectiveness of the organisation's governance in line with the government's call to make it mandatory for statutory bodies to develop their respective Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP).
“The Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan was introduced as a mandatory initiative under the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019- 2023 through Strategy 2 which is to strengthen the efficiency of public service delivery and also Strategy 6 which is to foster good governance in corporate entities,“ he said when launching the DBP Anti-Corruption Plan 2021-2025 held virtually yesterday.
Mohd Zuki also hoped that this could be a source of inspiration for other government agencies to develop their respective Organisational Anti-Corruption Plans in curbing corrupt activities among civil servants.
Meanwhile, DBP director-general Datuk Abang Salehuddin Abang Shokeran said the plan was important for DBP's future.
“This plan will ensure the work culture at DBP is based on integrity and makes corruption one of the main enemies to maintain the well-being of the country and the organisation in particular,“ he said.
DBP Board of Control chairman Prof Datuk Seri Dr Awang Sariyan said the plan was an effective management tool that could be used as a guide in managing corruption issues systematically.
“This will make it easier for the DBP Board of Control to monitor the governance implemented by the DBP management,“ he said.
The plan, which covers four priority areas, four strategies, seven strategic objectives and 42 short and long-term initiatives, will be implemented over a five-year period from 2021 to 2025.-Bernama
