PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry is always ready to give its full support and solid cooperation to the leadership of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pix) in implementing initiatives to improve the country’s quality of education.
The ministry said Mahathir, who is the interim education minister, is a statesman with wide experience in national education transformation.
“It is hoped that with Tun serving in that capacity it would enhance the excellence of the Education Ministry and national education,” the ministry said in a statement today.
The ministry expressed its deepest appreciation and congratulations to Mahathir for acting as the interim education minister.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement today that the Cabinet on Wednesday (Jan 8) decided that Mahathir would act in that capacity effective Jan 3, until the next education minister is appointed.
Maszlee Malik resigned as Education Minister on Jan 3 after holding the post for 20 months. — Bernama
