JOHOR BARU: A 73-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Kulai yesterday, believed to have been murdered by an Indonesian couple who had been her domestic helpers for just 10 days, police said today.

Johor Police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said a white Toyota Alphard vehicle and some jewellery belonging to the woman were missing, apparently stolen by the stay-in couple, both aged 21, who have fled since.

The woman’s son and a neighbour realised something amiss after they failed to contact her by telephone, he told a press conference here.

“Policemen who came to investigate found the woman already dead with head injuries. We know the identities of the couple,” he said.

Ayob Khan said the police are investigating the case as murder and appealed to anyone who has information to contact Kulai CID chief ASP Nazrol Bongsudi at 013-8958288 or investigating officer ASP Wee Hock Lian at 019-7958008. - Bernama
