BATU PAHAT: An elderly woman’s body was found in a ditch near a bridge in Taman Sri Wangsa, Parit Besar, here today.
The body was found at 10.30am by the public who then informed the police, said Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Azhan Abdul Halim.
An investigation later found that the body found floating was that of a 66-year-old woman, he said.
Azhan said there was no injury on the body and a search carried out around the site found no evidence of crime.
“The deceased woman reportedly left the house and did not return for a day before she was found dead. The body, sent to the Pathology Unit, Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital has been identified by her family members,” he said.
The case has been classified as sudden death. — Bernama
