Entertainment centre manager slashed to death (Updated)

PETALING JAYA: A 28-year-old pub manager was brutally slashed to death by a gang of men at a nightspot in Section 8 here early on Sunday following a misunderstanding.

The victim identified as Edward Rishal S Reggie of the Maxwell Towers condominium at Gasing Indah here died of serious slash wounds to his head and body after being attacked outside the Rahasiyam bar at 8 Avenue, Jalan Sungai Jernih 8/1.

Police said the victim, who was a manager of the Bar Shack Kitchen Bar in Bangsar, was set upon by at least five men who were armed with machetes at about 6.30am.

Investigators arrested three men at the scene but are looking for at least five others who are the main suspects behind the attack.

Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said investigations showed that an hour before the victim was attacked, there was a heated argument outside the bar between a group of men.

He said the victim was not present at the premises at the time but is said to have showed up later after finishing work.

Fadzil said an hour after the argument, several men in four cars showed up at the bar and a brawl broke out.

The victim who ran into the bar on seeing the men was pursuit and slashed.

An ambulance was summoned to the place and paramedics found the victim had died at the scene.
