Farhash questions Perak MB over council member appointments

PETALING JAYA: The Perak PKR leadership yesterday questioned Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu on his function in administering the state responsibly.

Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (pix) said it was the responsibility of a mentri besar to administer the state responsibly and ensure the spirit of unity was maintained among all Pakatan Harapan party members.

“However, this mentri besar seems to be stubborn in carrying out his responsibilities. What are his reasons for delaying the appointment of certain council members which are important in ensuring the smooth administration of the state?”

He said PKR had already submitted the names of those to be sworn in and there is no concrete reason why the mentri besar should delay the process.

Farhash said the names were submitted to Ahmad Faizal two months ago but until today, the appointments had yet to be made.

“We also want to pledge our support to Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming in handling the situation regarding the membership of Paul Yong Choo Kiong in the state exco,” he added.

Yong decided to take a leave of absence from his official duties as a Perak executive council member on Aug 25 to focus on his rape trial in a bid to clear his name and establish his innocence.

Farhash said it must be emphasised that all component party members must respect the constitution of each party and should not get involved in the internal affairs of others.

“Ahmad Faizal should be cooperative. He should just carry out his responsibilities according to the party constitution.”
