Dzulkefly didn’t call for MCO to be lifted

PETALING JAYA: Mass testing for Covid-19 antibodies should be done instead of extending the Movement Control Order (MCO), says former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (pix).

Speaking to The Malaysian Insight (TMI), he said that by doing mass testing, more people will be allowed to go back to work and recover the crumbling economy.

He claimed that serological test will identify people with antibodies that protect them against the coronavirus, just like those recovered Covid-19 patients and those asymptomatic patients.

Dzulkefly pointed out that it is more practical to do serological tests as they cost only around RM20 per person.

“The most optimal way forward is to test for both — those who have the virus and those who have antibodies,“ he told TMI.

Those who possess the antibodies for Covid-19 will be identified through testing and they should be allowed to go back to work, he said.
