Here’s how the Malaysian Health Ministry defines ‘suspected Covid-19 cases’

PETALING JAYA: Everytime Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pix) gives a Covid-19 press conference, we’re familiar with two statistics: the number of infected persons and the number of deaths. However, there’s one statistic that we’re not familiar with, or may not know what it’s exactly about ... suspected cases.

Fortunately, the Health Ministry today released an infographic on Twitter explaining what suspected cases mean. So, basically it’s when:

>> Someone has a respiratory infection showing one sudden symptom like coughing, difficulty breathing, sore throat, etc. AND

>> Travelled overseas within 14 days of symptoms showing. OR

>> Someone who had close contact with a Covid-19 patient 14 days before symptoms appear. OR

>> Someone who attended a gathering related to a known Covid-19 cluster
