SHAH ALAM: Johor Baru MP Akmal Nasir (pix) is the new PKR Youth Chief while Gombak Setia assemblyman Muhammad Hilman Idham is his deputy.
Akmal’s rival for the post was outgoing deputy youth chief Dr Afif Bahardin.
The results were announced at PKR’s 13th National Congress which is being held at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam from Nov 16 to 18.
Muhammad Hilman in addressing the crowd here, said the youth machinery had successfully undergone a long internal party election.
“The rakyat is tired of hearing us fight with each other. We won today as a party that is part of a new ruling government.
“I have never dreamed of being a political celebrity, my intention is to serve the public. This is a good beginning,“ he said.
