JOHOR BAHRU: The ImmuPlan vaccination programme, an initiative of the Johor state government specifically for economic frontliners, will be improved from time to time to ensure that more people receive the Covid-19 vaccine, said Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.
Hasni said among the improvements are to increase vaccine supplies not only to help the economic frontline workers in the state but also Malaysian workers who have a valid work permit or job offer letter, as well as employer letter in Singapore, get their jabs.
He said this after meeting recipients registered under the programme at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre (Persada) vaccination centre here today.
He reportedly said that under the ImmuPlan programme, a total of 100,000 vaccine doses would be provided for economic frontliners, especially those in the industrial, retail and government sectors.
Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by the Menteri Besar’s Office, the programme is very helpful to the Johor people, especially those who are working in Singapore.
According to K. Kanmani, 33, who is registered under the programme, she had to resign from her job in Singapore when the pandemic hit the country.
“With this ImmuPlan programme, I got the vaccine faster and I hope to get back to work as soon as possible,” she said adding that the programme would save the cost of quarantine for Malaysians working in Singapore.
Another recipient, Nor Fazlina Hamdan, 34, said she was thankful to the state government for introducing the initiative, adding that she hoped she could work again in Singapore.
“Before Covid-19, I travelled daily to Singapore to work as a customer service officer. Such a programme should be continued, I hope the ImmuPlan can be extended to all Johor people,“ she added. — Bernama
