Kejora donates RM500,000 to Johor disaster fund

JOHOR BAHRU: The South East Johor Development Authority (Kejora) yesterday donated RM500,000 to the Johor disaster fund, in a joint effort with the state government to break the Covid-19 infection chain.

Kejora chairman, Datuk Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh(pix), presented the mock cheque to Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Hasni Mohammad, at the latter’s office.

Che Zakaria, in a statement yesterday, said that the donation was part of Kejora’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to help and benefit those in need.

For this year, Kejora has implemented 13 Kejora region Covid-19 vaccination outreach and donation initiatives, involving an allocation of RM889,150, with 8,168 beneficiaries.

The initiatives include the Covid-19 voucher presentation programme; Back to School; Food Basket assistance; Covid-19 vaccination registration outreach; Free Ride to Vac and more.

He said that Kejora would continue to be committed to helping develop a human capital agenda involving various sections of society in the south east region of Johor. -Bernama
