KOTA BHARU: The Youth and Sports Ministry was allocated more than RM6 million for upgrading of several building and sports facilities at the Kelantan Sports Complex here in preparation for the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma) to be hosted by Kelantan.

Its secretary-general, Datuk M. Noor Azman Taib said the facilities that were upgraded included the canteen, dormitories, surau, running track, futsal court and lawn bowl courts.

The upgrading work started last year and was completed in July this year, he told Bernama after handing over the Kelantan Sports Complex Upgrading Project to the state government here, today.

Also present was State Youth, Sports and NGO Committee chairman Wan Roslan Wan Hamat.

M.Noor Azman said the ministry, together with the state government, are also looking into building and upgrading other sports facilities in the state, such as a stadium and aquatic centre, in preparation for Sukma. — Bernama
