YOGYAKARTA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, arrived here from Jakarta Wednesday as part of His Majesty’s state visit to Indonesia that began on Monday.

The King and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, flew in to the Adisutjipto International Airport at about 10am (11am Malaysian time).

They were welcomed by Yogyakarta Special Region Deputy Governor Kanjeng Gusti Pengeran Adipati Aryo Paku Alam X, Indonesian Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Eko Putro Sandjojo and the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zainal Abidin Bakar.

Their Majesties were accompanied by Malaysian Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and officials from Istana Negara, the Prime Minister’s Department and Foreign Ministry.

Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah are scheduled to begin their Yogyakarta visit with an audience with the Sultan of Yogyakarta and Governor of the Yogyakarta Special Region, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.

Their Majesties are also scheduled to visit several historical sites before returning to Malaysia Thursday. — Bernama
