BACHOK: A 19-year-old labourer is in remand for seven days from today to assist police investigation over the rape of a single mother and murder of a man in an incident in Kampung Mujur, Jelawat here last Monday.
Bachok district police chief DSP Samsulmuddin Sulaiman said the remand order was issued by the Magistrate’s Court here.
He said the police arrested the suspect, who was found sleeping in a house near the scene, at 10.30 am yesterday.
In the incident, a 28-year-old man was stabbed to death, while two others were injured, including the single mother, who was also believed to have been raped. -Bernama
