Lokman Adam: Why has no one been charged?

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam (pix) will sue the Attorney-General (AG) if the two men in a lewd video are not charged.

Lokman, who was called to Bukit Aman police headquarters for questioning on the sex allegations, insisted he submitted irrefutable evidence for action to be taken against a minister and former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz.

“I don’t understand why, two months after the video emerged in June, the AG has yet to charge anyone related to the video,” he said.

“I will give the AG one week to press charges from the date my lawyer hands him this report. With the evidence we obtained from the UK-based firm, I hope the police can submit the investigation paper to the AG to charge them.”

He said the video analysis undertaken by UK-based Verden Forensics did not detect any digital tampering with the raw footage of the clips that had circulated on the internet the last few months.

Lokman said he instructed his lawyers yesterday to submit a notice and a copy of the forensic report to the AG for prosecution.

Meanwhile, a senior human rights lawyer said Lokman could sue the AG but the case would likely be struck off.

“He has the privilege under our law but it won’t be a good case. A lawyer might serve him because of the legal fees,“ he told theSun when contacted.
