LTAT welcomes 12% increment in budget allocation for defence

KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) has welcomed the 12% increment in budget allocation for the Defence Ministry from RM13.9 billion to RM15.6 billion for the 2020 fiscal year.

This, it said, would provide opportunities to its companies that are key participants in the maritime sector, with current projects with the ministry.

In addition, the government’s move to expand the Bantuan Sara Hidup scheme is indeed great news, particularly for armed forces veterans, as it would help them better manage the rising cost of living, LTAT CEO, Nik Amlizan Mohamed said in a statement today.

“We are particularly pleased with the Rent To Own (RTO) financing scheme announced as it will positively impact our ability to sell our remaining unsold condominium units.

“Moreover, LTAT will be offering 2,500 units of affordable homes in Taman LTAT Bukit Jalil to members of the armed forces in the coming fiscal year, who should also benefit from the RTO scheme.

“With people-centric measures that are solidly rooted in the reality of our current economic climate, LTAT is positive that the 2020 Budget will stimulate a year of shared growth,” she added. - Bernama
