KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will host the first ever Miss and Mister Grand Sea Asia 2019, the Asian chapter of the world pageant.
With over 30 Asian countries taking part, it aims to be “more than a beauty pageant” to show that beauty is not just skin deep.
Participants can opt to wear a hijab and they need not show too much skin in this competition.
“It is not just a night to crown someone who is the most beautiful,” said Valentin Mishra, who is the CEO of D’La Valentina, the pageant organiser.
She said the competitors would also be judged on their attitude and aptitude through several events.
The Grand Finale of Miss and Mister Grand Sea Asia 2019 will be held at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa in Petaling Jaya on February 2019.
The event will be divided into two categories — for teens from age of 15 to 19 and the other for 20 to 28 years old.
