LOCAL starlet Ika Mustafa (pix) has been quarantined for exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) after returning from China.

Ika confirmed to Siakap Keli that she was quarantined on Sunday afternoon, having returned from Haikou, China the previous night

The star of the hit Damaikanlah urged fans to pray for her well-being, in an Instagram post.

“When I departed to China, there was a male passenger in his 60s who was suffering from a really bad bout of flu and was coughing,” said Ika.

After being checked by one of the cabin crew, it was found out that the man was from Wuhan.

“Upon arrival in Haikou, a cabin crew announced there was a passenger from Wuhan onboard, and doctors and nurses on duty were called in to treat the man,“ she added.

Ika took the flight back to Malaysia upon completion of work in Haikou, on Jan 25.

“When I woke up the next morning, I lost my voice, I coughed a lot, my throat ached, I had a fever and I vomited,” she says.

She was referred to the Sungai Buloh Hospital (HSB) after she was examined at a clinic on Sunday afternoon.

Ika was then placed in an isolation ward, pending her blood test result which is expected to be out today.
