MCO: Perak gov’t reviewing operating hours for wholesale markets

IPOH: The Perak State Government is currently reviewing the operating hours of wholesale markets set from 4am to 10am during the second phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO), to assist the business community and industry players in Perak.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (pix) said the decision was made following a discussion with several business communities in the state including the Perak chapter of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) held via video conference, yesterday.

The meeting was also attended by Perak Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Datuk Muhammad Muhiyuddin Abdullah, Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Datuk Liew Sew Yee, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Perak chairman Datuk Gan Tack Kong, Perak Indian Chamber of Commerce president Ravi Shankar and Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (Rehda) Perak chairman Tony Khoo Boon Chuan.

Ahmad Faizal said the state government had also agreed to help facilitate companies that had obtained permission from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry to continue operations during the second phase of the MCO until April 14, or until it is lifted.

“The state government has also directed the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (Pemudah) to play a proactive role in facilitating the affairs and application processes that come under the jurisdiction of the state government,“ he said in a statement, here today.

In addition, Ahmad Faizal said the state government would continue its engagement sessions with NCCIM representatives from time to time to assist the Perak business community and industry players who are important contributors to the prosperity of the people and the state. - Bernama
