PETALING JAYA: Two men suspected to be illegal lottery agents were caught in the act in Taman Medan, near here, today.

In the raid at two housing units, two men, aged 22 and 63, were arrested for selling illegal lottery tickets to customers who came to the premises

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the two were believed to have just started the business, taking advantage of the fact that shops selling lottery tickets were closed under the Movement Control Order enforced by the Government.

“Customers will either go to the house or contact the suspects to buy illegal lottery tickets for a certain amount of money, and is based on lotteries overseas,“ he said when met by Bernama after observing the cooperation between the police and armed forces under the Covid-19 Joint Patrol Ops at the Damansara. , Toll Plaza here.
