Ministry intends to set up FCDC in every zone: Saifuddin Nasution

Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that one of such centre has been operational in Bukit Angkat here, while a mini FCDC is under construction in Kulim-Bandar Baharu, Kedah, and is expected to begin operations next month.

“The mini FCDC in Kulim-Bandar Baharu is now under construction...the location is very strategic as it is situated in the area bordering Penang, Perak and Kedah, hence enabling us to concentrate on the operations in the northern region.

“It is our hope to built one FCDC in every zone - eastern, southern, central and northern - with the aim to enhance the effectiveness of the distribution of goods and also to facilitate and coordinate the contributions from donors in each zone,” he told a press conference after the pre-launch of the Bukit Angkat FCDC here today.

The FCDC, which opens daily from 9am to 6pm, was equipped with basic amenities such as office space, organised storage shelves and freezer room.
