LABUAN: A student with fever currently admitted at the Labuan Nucleus Hospital is among the 1,328 candidates islandwide sitting for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination beginning today.

The Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan 2 student, Radiqil Abdullah, 12, was calmly answering questions of Bahasa Melayu paper on the hospital bed with monitoring by invigilator.

He was admitted since last night (Tuesday) after being diagnosed with having high body temperature.

The Education Ministry stated a total of 445,641 candidates have registered to sit for the exam that will take place on Sept 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 at 8,076 centres nationwide.

A total of 434,177 candidates are from government and government-aided schools while 11,464 are from private schools.

Labuan Education Department officials reminded candidates to bring their identification document (MyKad/MyKid/Candidate ID form/ID certificate) to the centre to ensure the smooth running of the examination. — Bernama
