Parliament: Will the MPs vote for budget 2021 today?

KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat sitting today is expected to be an important one with various quarters waiting to see whether Budget 2021 will be passed or not.

If time permits, voting for the Supply Bill 2021 will be conducted shortly after the remaining nine ministers completed winding up the debate on the budget for their respective ministries.

The 2021 budget is the first by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, which is led by of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, since taking over the federal government’s administration last March.

It is allocating RM322.5 billion under the budget for next year’s national expenditure.

According to the Order Paper for the Parliament sitting today, the issue on international border patrol control will also be raised during the Ministers’ Question Time following the attack on two PGA members at the Malaysia-Thai border in Padang Besar, Perlis, two days ago.

The incident killed Sergeant Baharuddin Ramli, 54, and seriously injured Sergeant Norihan a / l Tari, 39.

The issue on corruption among government employees and development on amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 or Act 355 will also be discussed by the house. -Bernama
