PORT DICKSON: Five men suspected to be members of an unregistered society have been arrested separately in Lukut and here.

Port Dickson district police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said acting on information, a team from the district police headquarters D7 branch made the first arrest at Dataran Segar Lukut at about 11.45pm last Sunday.

The other four men were arrested in Lukut and Port Dickson, recently, he said.

“The arrests were made based on photos uploaded by the group members on social media to commemorate the group’s founding.

“So far, police have arrested five men, aged 30 to 58. We are still looking for several more to complete the investigation,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Aidi Sham said the man arrested on Sunday was freed yesterday while the other four were remanded till Saturday, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 52(3) of the Societies Act 1966.

He said several items were seized, including a shirt printed with a coin bearing the Nazi logo, which represented the group, as well as two mobile phones containing evidence of a ritual conducted by group members.

He said one of the men had two criminal records.

He said stern action would be taken against anyone involved with any association that is not registered with the Registrar of Societies. -Bernama
