KUANTAN: Police have detained a man, aged 27, to facilitate investigation on a robbery at a businessman’s house in Damansara here early this month.

Kuantan district police chief ACP Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali said the suspect, who is a former employee of the businessman, was arrested at a house in Kampung Pandan 1 here at 11am yesterday.

“The suspect tested positive for drug and police also seized a packet, believed to contain drug from him,” he told Bernama here today.

Mohamad Noor said police had launch a manhunt for another suspect in the robbery.

Yesterday, Bernama reported that a businessman with the title “Datuk” suffered losses of more than RM100,000 when his house was broken into by two men last Dec 6.

The businessman, aged 31, also claimed the robbery suspects also damaged a Porsche car which was parked in the garage at the house.

Based on the footage of a closed-circuit television camera at the premises, the victim claimed that his house was broken into on Dec 6, but he only realised the incident on Dec 19 when he returned to the house after being away in Kuala Lumpur on business for two months. — Bernama
