Police hunt down two brothers believed to drug pushers

PETALING JAYA: Two brothers who slipped through a road block after ramming into a policeman in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya last night, are believed to be drug pushers operating in the Klang Valley area, according to Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din.

Both brothers, known as S. K. Navin Kumar, 22, and S. K. Danesh Kumar, 21, have drug-related criminal records.

Mohd Zani said in the incident at about 8pm, police tailed the Myvi car the two brothers were traveling in from Desa Ria, Sungai Way and stopped it at Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya.

“However, they sped off and knocked into a policeman at the scene, and the police fired four shots towards their car, but they managed to escape,” he said in a press conference at the Petaling Jaya District Police headquarters, here today.

The policeman who was knocked down suffered slight injuries and received treatment as an outpatient at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

Mohd Zani said initial police investigations found that the car they brothers were in was stolen and the bore an unregistered number plate.

Police have urged the public with information on the two brothers to contact the nearest police station to help in the investigations. - Bernama
