ALOR STAR: Police have arrested three men and seized more than two kilos of syabu worth RM66,000 at the car park of the Pendang toll plaza.

Pendang district police chief DSP Arriz Sham Hamezah said the suspects, aged between 20 and 30s, were arrested at 4.15pm on Thursday.

“When confronted, the first suspect, aged 23, threw a bag onto the road, and on checking police found two plastic packets containing 2,070 gm of syabu inside,“ he said in a statement yesterday.

Arriz Sham said police then arrested two more suspects in the vicinity.

He said the drugs were believed to be for distribution in Pulau Pinang.

Police also seized three motorcycles belonging to the suspects, all of whom have criminal records.

They have been remanded for seven days starting Oct 11. — Bernama
