KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police has tightened enforcement in three red zones in the city, namely Titiwangsa, Kepong and Lembah Pantai, to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said this was because public movement in these three areas was still high despite efforts by the police and the Malaysian Armed Forces to bring it down.

He said police were monitoring these areas more frequently and increasing its manpower at roadblocks while broadcasts were made to inform the public to stay indoors and not go out except in the case of emergencies.

“We are asking the public in these three areas to reduce their movements, and only go out for important reasons. If possible, go out only once a day. We want to limit movement,” he said in a press conference held at the Murni Police Station here today. - Bernama
