SHAH ALAM : Police are investigating PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (pix) for his alleged involvement in an altercation with a man at Taman Dagang Permai, Ampang on Tuesday.
The victim who is a 29-year-old boxing coach suffered injuries to his waist, groin and other parts after being set upon by several men armed with helmets, knives and chairs.
It is learnt that Farhash who is also Perak PKR chief was present during the incident.
Selangor police CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said at 9pm on Tuesday that the incident at the Arena All Stars Sports Complex involved between 12 and 14 men.
He said the fight began when a suspect in the case went up to the victim and pushed his face.
Fadzil said a commotion erupted soon after before the management of the complex intervened and ordered the victim and his attacker to leave the building.
He said as the victim walked up to a motorcycle parking lot, he was set upon by a group of 10 armed men.
“Three friends of the victim tried to break up the attack but failed. Following the incident, we urge one of the suspects identified as Farhash Wafa Salvador aged 37 to come forward and assist in our investigations.” Fadzil said yesterday.
It is learnt that police have obtained footage of the incident from a closed-circuit security camera installed in the area.
Although the motive of the attack is under investigation, it is believed that it was triggered by a past incident between both parties.
