SEREMBAN: The expertise of the private and corporate sectors could contribute to the development of schools through improvement of the teaching and facilitating process (pdPc), said Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching (pix).
She said the ministry, hence welcomed collaboration with these sectors in highlighting the potential and development of education in Malaysia.
“Contributions can be made by private and corporate companies not only in the learning process but also their expertise in related fields.
“There may be developers which can help in building a hall, donate a computer or maybe share their expertise in co-curricular activities.
“For instance, someone from the private sector comes weekly to teach yoga to the students of this school (Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil, Bandar Sri Sendayan),” she told reporters after visiting the school, here, today.
SJKT Bandar Sri Sendayan is hailed as among the best Tamil schools in the country in terms of its modern design and having the latest teaching and learning facilities.
According to Teo, this model could be implemented in other schools if more from the private sector were willing to collaborate with the Education Ministry.
“I was made to understand that the cost of building the school was about RM10 million, but they received a contribution from the private sector. We can see that the approach used in this school is very creative and innovative,” she said.
SJKT Bandar Sri Sendayan, formerly known as SJKT Ladang Bukit Bertam, was built by property developer, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad. — Bernama
