Puspakom clamps down on misuse of online appointment refund policy

PETALING JAYA: The Computerized Vehicle Inspections Centre (Puspakom) has tightened its online appointment refund policy by implementing a stricter measure to clamp down on bogus and over-bookings on its MyPuspakom app.

In a statement today, Puspakom said its investigations showed that a majority of refund requests came from account users with bogus or multiple bookings, with some of them having frequent cancellation records.

“Investigations further revealed there were account users making as many as 100 to 500 appointments per month, but failed to turn up for the sessions, causing inspection slots in MyPuspakom to be fully taken up,” the agency added.

These groups were believed to be runners making profits by offering the “fully-booked”

appointment slots to genuine customers who have to wait for more than five days for

inspection slots, especially for inspection centres in the Klang Valley.

Puspakom said user accounts with high frequency of booking rescheduling, cancellation and

refund requests will be tracked and blocked by the system.

The new refund policy, scheduled to be implemented on Oct 10, is aimed at eliminating misuse and abuse of the booking system by unscrupulous account users.

It will not consider any refund requests based on situations like customers not turning up on their appointment date, not being able to provide sufficient documentation, driving a vehicle different from the vehicle stated in the booking confirmation slip and if they fail to fulfil any other terms and conditions.

Additionally, Puspakom will only allow a maximum of three private vehicles booking per customer or user per day.
