KUALA LUMPUR: A local man, suspected in connection with the murder of a woman, whose body was found wrapped in a blanket in an apartment in Prima Damansara Petaling Jaya last week, has been remanded for another six days.

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the remand on the suspect would continue from tomorrow until Friday (Sept 22 to 27).

“The suspect who was earlier remanded for a week will have his remand extended to facilitate investigations into the case,“ he said when contacted today.

Last Sunday, police arrested the 40-year-old man at about 1.30am after he surrendered himself at the Tampin District police headquarters in Negri Sembilan.

On Sept 11 the body of a woman was found wrapped in a blanket in a pile of pillows in the apartment.

Police investigations showed the woman was believed to have died of suffocation and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. — Bernama
