SRI AMAN: A RM175 million hospital being constructed here has the potential to become the lead health facility for residents in Sri Aman and surrounding areas, according to Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye today.

The hospital which is 82.5% complete, is anticipated to be operational by the middle of next year.

“We have also planned for this hospital to provide several specialist services,“ Dr Lee said, adding that the purpose of his visit to the area was, among others, to identify delays in the construction of the hospital and ensure it was completed in good time.

The structural works have been completed and what remains are electrical works and interior fittings, he explained, to reporters after visiting the Lubok Antu health clinic located some 255 km from Kuching in Sarawak. - Bernama
