KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON97 petrol will go down by 22 sen to RM2.41 per litre, while petrol prices for RON95 and diesel will remain unchanged, at RM2.08/litre and RM2.18/litre, from June 15-21.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, in a statement here today, said the prices of the three fuels will revert back to weekly from this week based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism after being held at the same level for two weeks (ending today) due to the Aidilfitri festive season.

The two digit drop for RON97 was due to a dip in the price of refined products in the world market following a drop in the price of Brent crude last week, he said.

Based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) the retail prices of RON95 and diesel were to be RM2.11/litre and RM2.19/litre, respectively.

Lim added that the retail prices of RON 95 and diesel were being to maintained to stabilise fuel prices and address cost of living issues. - Bernama
